Stampin’ Up!’s 30 Year Anniversary

Posted on

As you may have guessed, Stampin’ Up! is celebrating it’s 30th year of being in business. In fact, this week, demonstrators from around the world are all gathering together in Florida to celebrate!  It’s all because one woman never gave up on her dreams.  Her name is Shelli Gardner and she’s the co-founder of Stampin’ Up!  This company started in her home!  Because of her love of papercrafting, I get to make money, set my own hours and do what I love to do which is watch others enjoy it too.

Kylie’s challenge this month was to make a thank you card for Shelli telling her how much we appreciate her ambition and faith in starting this company.  I have so many friends I never would have met if it wasn’t for Stampin’ Up!  So here’s my card I’ll be sending out to Shelli.

I got a little out of my comfort zone on this card.  It has a lot of texture and “mess” as I would call it, but I kept thinking WWSD?  What would Shelli Do!?  She loves texture and she believes, more is better.  Once I got started I couldn’t stop!  I used the stamp set, All Things Thanks because as soon as I decided to make this card the phrase, Thanks for that thing you did was running through my mind.  It’s a perfect sentiment for what I want to tell Shelli.

Tip: You can color Rhinestones with Sharpie markers to make whatever color you need.

If you’d like to check out cards that other demonstrators made for Shelli then follow this link to Kylie’s blog.

The idea for this card came from Mojo Monday Sketches.  You can click on the photo below to play along.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you were inspired to send a thank you card today to someone that has made a difference in your life.

Your BFF,
Jenn

Here’s a list of everything I used on today’s card.

Global Stamping Friends – Color Feature

Posted on

Hi and Welcome back to another month of awesome projects made by demonstrators from around the world. You are visiting me, Jenn Charles at BFF Stampers.  This month we thought we’d challenge ourselves with a color feature.  I really liked this idea and will be featuring a color monthly.  This month for the Global Stamping Friends hop we decided on the color Call Me Clover.  I’ve fallen in love with this color while using it these past couple days.  It is a beautiful bright green. We were allowed to also use black & white in our designs.

For both of my cards I used the Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper.  I love the bold prints on the back but it also has some black and white designs on the opposite side.  And I love the 1/8″ size of the ribbon.  It’s my favorite size as you will also see in the next card. There is a list of all the products I used in these two cards down below.

In this card I used the 1/8″ Whisper White ribbon.  I told you I loved that size ribbon.  The pop of Call Me Clover adds so much to this card.  This stamp and die cuts are from the Stitched All Around Bundle.

I hope you found some inspiration to try this bold In-Color.  Next up in the blog is Amanda Farlinger.  Click on the arrow below to go to her blog.  Scroll to the bottom on the page if you’d like to see a list of everyone in the hop.

Thanks for stopping by,
Your BFF,
Jenn

Global Stamping Friends – Sketch Challenge!

Posted on

May the 4th be with you!  Just throwing that out there for some of my friends.  You know who you are!!! 😉

Hi BFF’s!  Doesn’t it feel like this year is just flying by?  It’s almost summertime!  I know in some areas it’s still snowing.  If that is you, I am very sorry.  What a winter it has been for some places around the world, but I can’t complain much here in San Diego, California.

Welcome to another blog hop with the Global Stamping Friends where demonstrators from all around the world are showcasing awesome Stampin’ Up! products!  This month we are working with a sketch.  I love sketch challenges.

Here is the sketch we are working with and here is what I came up with using some new, some retiring and some current products.  I really stuck to the sketch with the circle and stripes and accents.  I added some dimension with the Sparkle embossing folder.

I fell in love with this designer series paper called Painted With Love that is only available while supplies last.  The gold accents really caught my eye.  So I decided to stamp the circle and the sentiment using Versamark and heat embossing in Gold.  This circle came from a brand new not-yet-released stamp set called Swirly Frames.  It coordinates with the Circle and Square Framelits.  It will be available in the new catalog on June 1st so you’re getting a sneak peek. 🙂

I used a current bundle that will be carrying over into the new catalog.  It’s called Colorful Seasons.  The sentiment and the flowers are from this bundle.  The colors I used were Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride and Rich Razzleberry.

I added a thin strip of the designer series paper inside the card also to finish it off. 🙂

I hope you liked my card. Next up is Tricia.  I know you will enjoy what she has come up with.

Thanks for stopping by.  Below is a list of everything I used today on this card except for the Swirly Frames.  If you’d like to shop with me, click HERE and use the Hostess Code BNQEJNBK when you check out and I will send you a surprise in the mail.

Jenn

Global Stamping Friends – Festive Celebrations

Posted on

Happy December!  December! Already!  Where has the year gone?

Welcome to this month’s Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop featuring Festive Celebrations!  These ladies never cease to amaze me with their creativity and the projects they come up with every month.

For my project, I’ve come up with a card and tag idea with a coordinating box.  I made it less feminine because it will be for my husband’s friend.  Coming up with manly ideas is very hard for me.  Do you struggle with that?

I coordinated them all using the Colorful Seasons Designer Series Pack.  The Christmas tree came from our timeless Lovely as a Tree stamp set.  It’s been around forever!

The Happy Christmas banner stamp is from a newer stamp set called Labels to Love.  You can find a list of everything I used down below.

These boxes are really easy to make.  They are very convenient for gift packaging year round, making them any size you need.

To make this box I used:
Thick Whisper White cardstock – 8×8 scored at 2 inches on all 4 sides.
Designer Series Paper – 6×6 scored at 1 inch on all sides.
Fold all the score lines. You will have 4 square corners on both pieces.  Cut one side to the line and adhere it together.  I like to use tear & tape so my box won’t dare to fall apart even with heavier items inside.

I CASE’d this card from a card in our Annual Catalog on Page 141 for the CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge #156.  I love challenging myself to come up with something new while also making it easier by using something already done! Does that make sense!  LOL.

I hope you got some inspiration from my card and gift packaging idea today.  Thank you for hopping along.  Click on the NEXT arrow to check out the talented creations by Marieke Bart.  There is a Roll call of everyone hopping today below for your convenience.

Your BFF,

Jenn
