My Favorite Technique – Heat Embossing!

Welcome back to BFF Stampers Blog Hopping! I missed creating, crafting and sharing it all with you! I’m resetting my goals and blogging again. Today I’m joining many other stampers for this Technique Tuesday with my favorite technique to showcase, Heat Embossing!

Heat Embossing is magic. Well, it’s not technically magic, but it’s like magic to a new stamper. There are many techniques to use with heat embossing. If you haven’t tried it yet, you are in for a surprise.

The simple and most effective technique is to heat emboss your sentiment. It adds texture, gloss and shine to your card.

I will often use heat embossing on colored cardstock. When I’m stamping a sentiment in ink, I usually just use white cardstock, however, when I want to use a colored cardstock, I’ll choose heat embossing for my sentiment. It really sticks out more.

The dimensions for this card are pretty simple:
Card Base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, folded in half
Dry Embossed Layer: 4 x 5 1/4
By the Bay DSP (trimmed into banner): 2 1/4 x 4
Scraps for Sentiment, Gold scraps for Leaf Flourish

I did use adhesive sheets to cut the leaf flourish out to make it easier to stick to the card. You can use Multipurpose liquid glue or Fine Tip glue pen. I just find I’m a very messy crafter and I didn’t want glue everywhere!! HAHA

I’ve also added a sneak peek of some new designer series paper that will be coming out in the Spring Mini Catalog on January 5th. It’s called By the Bay Specialty DSP. It’s a 6×6 paper pack that has gold and clear embossing throughout it. I can’t wait for you to see the entire suite.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Use the links below to hop along and check out the amazing projects that everyone else has made. After all this inspiration, I hope you will give heat embossing a try.

Happy Stamping!
Your BFF,
Jenn

What a pretty card! I love the simplicity of the splash of color from the DSP and the gold foiled leaves/gold embossing!
