April 2018 Stamp ‘N Hop – Retiring Annual Catty Favorites

Posted on

I can’t believe another annual catalog is almost up (May 31st) and a brand new one is coming out with a ton of new stuff!  I went last weekend to OnStage and got the new Catalog and let me tell you, you are going to love it!  But today, we are here to talk about what we will miss the most!

Thank you for joining me today.  You are visiting Jenn Charles @ BFF Stampers.  I have so many favorites that are retiring so it was too hard to pick just one.  So I’ve made a few cards with colors and stamp sets that I believe are must have’s in your craft room.

Rose Wonder is a beautiful stamp set with some wonderful greetings that I use so much. I will really miss this set. It coordinates with a matching thinlit set that is retiring also.  For this card, I’ve heat embossed the rose stamp with white embossing powder and then used Brusho and my Aqua Painter to make the vibrant colors.  I’ve used Peekaboo Peach (retiring) on one and Real Red and Wild Wasabi (retiring) on the other.  Below is a close-up of the red one.  I stamped it onto Shimmery White cardstock.  It’s so fancy.  It’s my first time using this cardstock and I love the all over glimmer.

Can you see the sparkle on the leaves?  I love the way the Brusho looks on these leaves also.

My next stamp set is called Butterfly Basics along with the Butterflies Thinlit Dies. All the butterfly sets that we’ve had coordinate so beautifully!  I’m really sad to see all these butterflies retiring.  I use them often.

I’ve paired it here with Peekaboo Peach again and Pear Pizzazz.  If you haven’t been able to tell yet, Peekaboo Peach is my favorite In-Color that is retiring.  But a little secret, they are bringing back one of my old In-Color favorites, Coastal Cabana and making it a core color!  So it makes it a little easier to let it go.

The color on this last one is a little harder to let go.  It’s soft sky.  I’ve just recently started using this color a lot more and now it’s retiring.  I’ve paired it here with Crumb Cake and the stamp set So Many Shells.  I just got this set a few months ago from a friend.  This is actually the first time I’ve used it.  I’ll be keeping it for awhile because it’s a perfect set to lift a friend up.

A list of everything I’ve used on these cards is below.

So now that I’ve told you a little about the color re-vamp, here’s an image to show you all the retiring colors.  There are quite a few core colors retiring along with the 2016-2018 In-Colors and Stampin’ Up! has changed around the colors in the core groups.  I think you will really like the change.  One more thing they’ve done is change the stamp pad itself.  It’s a lot easier to open, a new pad that doesn’t foam up and they are stackable!  I know you will love them as much as I do.

Here are the retiring colors.  Keep an eye out on Monday for an email all about the color re-vamp and the new colors.  Sign up for my newsletter if you aren’t already receiving my emails.

Are any of these your favorites?  Protect your investment you’ve already made by stocking up before they sell out.  Don’t forget the cardstock, ink refill and coordinating accessories.

Here are the retiring lists of Everything retiring!

Retiring IN-Colors and Easter Treats

Another annual catalog is almost here so what exactly does that mean for us? Every year Stampin’ Up! comes out with another 5 brand new In-Colors so unfortunately these 5 will be expiring. Did you have a favorite from the 2016-2018 In-Colors? Mine changed throughout the last two years but I’m ending with Peekaboo Peach. It goes with everything!

The reason I’m already talking about the new catalog is because when the new comes in, the old goes out and that means getting them while supplies last! That means cardstock, ink pads, ink refills, and ribbons or embellishments are all gonna be going, going, gone very soon and I don’t want any of you missing out!

I made these adorable favors that I CASEd from Pootles. Here is a link to her video.

The measurements are:
Cardstock or Designer Series Paper: 11″ x 3 1/2″

Score on the LONG side at 1/2″, 1 1/4″, 9 3/4″, 10 1/2″

Score on the SHORT side at 3/4″, 1 1/2″, 2 1/4″, 3″

These are super easy to make multiples of and they are perfect for filling up with chocolate Easter eggs and putting into Easter baskets.

I used the Sale-a-Bration stamp set, Heartfelt Blooms to stamp all over the cardstock and also for the sentiment. The Sale-a-Bration freebies end on March 31st.  Stock up on your favorite in-colors and then get a FREE Sale-A-Bration item.  Stampin’ Up! has added even more items for FREE below.

RemARKably Created Blog Tour: Easter!

Posted on

Welcome to another month with us hopping around the Remarkably Creative Blog Tour.  You are visiting Jenn Charles @ BFF Stampers.  This month our theme is Easter.  I love Easter!  As a Christian, I believe that Jesus died to give me life.  Easter is when we celebrate this FREE gift God has given us.  How do you celebrate?

The cards that I’ve made are using the new Blossoming Basket stamp set.  This beautiful basket of flowers is perfect for an Easter card.  I’ve paired it here with Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette and the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper.

I’ve used the Pretty Label punch to punch out my sentiment and stick it under.

I “painted” on the ink by smooshing the ink pad and using the ink on the lid with a Wink of Stella as my “paintbrush”.  I love the glittery effect that Wink of Stella leaves on everything!  Pink Pirouette and Pear Pizzazz were the colors I used.  Then using my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend, I colored the basket.  You need to use the Memento Black Ink Pad while using the alcohol markers or the stamped image will bleed. In this case, I stamped the basket in Crumb Cake itself and wanted it to bleed a little for a more textured look.

Here is more of a close-up of my card.  I sponged the pink Pretty Label Punch, the designer series paper and the white focal image cardstock all in Crumb Cake.  I used Linen Thread to tie the bow.

At Stamp Camp last night we made this set.

Here is another card with the same idea but using Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends and So Saffron card Base.  I used the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the crumb cake piece on the card and also on the basket.  This stamp set and embossing folder are a FREE Sale-A-Bration item you can earn with a $100 order.  I also used our Stampin’ Spritzer filled with alcohol and 10 drops of Daffodil Delight Re-inker to change the color of the Shreddie.  It comes in Berry Burst, Silver and White.  The dots on the background of the card is a stamp from Timeless Textures and the framelit I used to cut the Happy Easter sentiment on the basket is from Bunch of Banners Framelits.  And my friend Doris brought me these pretty tulips to class last night. Isn’t she sweet?

Last but not least I wanted to show you a card I made using the Hold on to Hope stamp set and Framelits Dies.  I did get this idea off of Pinterest but I can not re-find the card I cased to give credit.  So if this was your idea, thank you!

This card uses Berry Burst Metallic Edge Ribbon and Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The cross is cut from Silver Foil.  The sentiment says: Celebrating one of God’s most Remarkable Creations – and the inside says YOU!  I want each of you to take this card to heart because it is true!  You are Remarkable and made by God and He doesn’t make mistakes!  You are perfect in His eyes, just the way you are.

Thanks for hopping with us today!  Below is a full lineup of everyone with their Easter projects.  Remember, you are visiting Jenn Charles with BFF Stampers.  Praying you have a fantastic Easter surrounded by people you love.

Valentine treats and other Stampin’ Up! stuff

Happy Valentine’s Day!

My kids have their parties at school today so of course we made valentines to pass out to everyone.  My daughter Emily made hers from the January Paper Pumpkin.  I had her use a different ribbon because I wanted to hoard keep the ribbon that came with the kit for myself.  Metallic Edge ribbon, yes please! It’s so beautiful!  Here’s the kit and what is looks like according to the directions.  The refill kit is still available for purchase for Paper Pumpkin subscribers.  I think it could be used for any occasion.

Here’s what Emily did with hers.

We not only used the stamp set from this Paper Pumpkin but also used the stamp set from last year’s Valentine Paper Pumpkin set. I liked the saying: For an Amazing Friend.  This kit had 16 Valentines in it so we had to use more than one kit.  With the extras, I made gifts for my Awana kids for tonight.  We also altered the Paper Pumpkin box for her Valentine holder at school.

Alex made these easy Valentines for his Kindergarten class.

This morning was super busy packing all our valentine’s and party snacks and doing Emily’s hair.

After I dropped them off at school, I stopped by Duncan Donuts to buy these treats that will be waiting for them (if I don’t eat them first!).  I do not feed my kids donuts before school because I like their teachers and I want their teachers to continue to like me!  LOL

Paper Pumpkin is celebrating it’s 5 year anniversary!  I’m so excited to see the 5 year anniversary box with a FREE gift in it.  When you purchase a 3-month Paper Pumpkin subscription during Sale-A-Bration, you can receive a FREE Sale-A-Bration item!  It’s a win-win!

Starting on the 16th, three new must-have Sale-A-Bration items are coming out. Take a look here.  Here are a few samples I have already:

After the 16th, you can get these SAB items for FREE with a $50 or $100 order BUT if you can’t wait to have them, you can purchase them now in a demonstrator kit for $99.  You will receive $125 worth of product of your choice for just $99 in addition to FREE shipping!  You can add the new items in your kit and not have to wait to earn them, but only through the 15th!  Sign up here.

I pray you all have a fantastic Valentine’s Day.  We can’t wait to see what Daddy brings home for all of us!  Didn’t I tell you, Valentine’s Day is all about my expectations! LOL

Keep Crafting!
Your BFF,
Jenn
