Scrapbooking with Mixed Media

Posted on

Thank you for joining us this month to inspire you to use Mixed Media in your scrapbooking. You are visiting Jenn Charles.

I never do anything mixed media so this was a huge stretch out of my comfort zone. I watercolored some cardstock and then die cut the hearts out to create a clover background. I also dragged my Call Me Clover ink pad across the white background and then dragged a versamark pad over the green and embossed it all in gold. It feels like a mess to me so I figured, hey, I’m doing mixed media! hahaha

Thanks again for joining us this month of the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop. Up next is Libby Dyson.

Stamp N’ Hop-Easter Box

Posted on

Welcome to this month’s Stamp n’ Hop. If you are hopping along then you’ve just visited Tracy Marie Lewis. The theme this month is Easter. I’ve made an Easter hinged box and notecard to give away some goodies! I used the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies with the gorgeous Grapefruit Grove Foil Sheets that are no longer available in the Sale-A-Bration catalog. This is a perfect idea to use it up if you were lucky enough to get it before it became unavailable. Everything in the Sale-A-Bration catalog is While Supplies Last so if you see something you have to have, get it! Everything is going so fast this year.

I also used the Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper on this set. This paper is my absolute favorite. It has beautiful colors in it and goes with all the seasons. This paper is still available for FREE in the SaleABration Catalog with a $50 order or as a bundle with a stamp set with a $100 order.

All of the butterflys are die cut from the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies. I used the Multi-Purpose Adhesive Sheets for the small ones so they would be easy to adhere.

I made the hinge box using one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 inch Grapefruit Grove cardstock and the Simply Scored board. I scored it at 1″ on all sides and then at the 5″ and 6″ marks on the 11 inch side. I think it’s a nice size box to give some treats or even a gift in for Easter.

I hope you enjoyed my project. Thank you for joining us on this hop. Next up is Cheryl Taylor. I know you will love her inspiration.

See you next time,
Your BFF,

Global Stamping Friends-Step it Up Blog Hop

Posted on

Welcome to this month’s Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This month we are Stepping It Up! Stampin’ Up! is bringing back simple stamping and we are showing you how you can start simple and make it more advanced. I have used the stamp set Beautiful You to make my 3 cards.

For my simple card, I used the stamp set, ink, and just one strip of designer series paper onto a white card.
For my 2nd stepped up version I added layers and paper pieced a dress onto her using the same designer series paper.
For my final stepped up version, I added an embossed layer, ribbon and popped the girl and sentiment up with dimensionals after cutting them with square die cuts. I colored her using the Stampin’ Blends Markers.

Thank you for joining us on our hop today. I hope I inspired you to stamp simply or to step it up! The list of products I used are at the bottom of the post. Next up is Lisa Ann Bernard. Her projects are always beautiful.
