Global Stamping Friends – One Year Anniversary Blog Hop

Posted on

Hi BFF’s!!

Can you believe that we have all been hopping together on the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop for one whole year already!  It doesn’t seem that long.  I’m starting to realize that the older I get, the faster time goes.  It’s slipping by.  I’ve been feeling kind of sentimental lately.  However, today is a day of celebration!  A celebration of friendships made over the course of a year because of a common passion of papercrafting.

Stampin’ Up!’s statement of the heart is ‘To Love what we do and Share what we love as we help other Enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments…In this we make a difference’.

I believe we have done this globally by sharing this blog hop together.  I’ve made friends from all over the world!  I would have never done that if I hadn’t started stamping with this company.

So my card is a friendship card.  I want to say THANK YOU to all my new friends I’ve made over the last year and to all my customers who encourage me everyday to keep sharing what I love.

I’ve used the Coffee Cafe stamp set because I love the friendship sentiment in it.  And if you know me, you know I absolutely LOVE coffee!  Everyone loves their coffee made differently, from straight black (that’s me!) to barely brown at all because it’s so flavored up.  I believe all of us are like coffee, completely different in our styles or flavors of crafting but with the same base, Stampin’ Up!

I used the glossy white cardstock to watercolor my frappacino.  This was my first time using it and I was pleasantly surprised at how fast it dried.  I love the look it gave my ‘plastic’ cup.  It’s hard to see in the photo.

Thank you for hopping along with me today.  Click the NEXT button to visit the creative Rachel.

Global Stamping Friends – Bloghop 12 – Kids Cards

Posted on

Welcome to another Blog Hop with the Global Stamping Friends, where Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world come together to post ideas on a monthly theme.  This month the theme is Kids Cards.  I always need kids cards.  I have 4 kids of my own and they are always coming to me last minute asking for a birthday card for a friend.  I have teenagers that always want something “cool” and then I have grade school kids that want something fun.  Today I have made a card using the stamp set No Bones About It because this dinosaur set screams “Kid” to me!

I used a new In-Color Lemon Lime Twist and love it with the Marina Mist and Smoky Slate.

Thanks for hopping by my blog.

Global Friends Bloghop – Holidays with a Twist

Posted on

Hi BFF’s!  Welcome to this month’s Global Friends Bloghop where demonstrators from around the world all participate in a theme and give you ideas to use with all those wonderful stamp sets you buy.

We’ve been very busy this summer. We haven’t even had time to go to the beach yet. The summer is flying by. The only good part about that is that Christmas is closer. Today’s hop is using a stamp set that is not necessarily for holidays and making it a holiday card. I used two sets to do just that.

This little tree reminded me of the Christmas tree from Charlie Brown.  I’ve used the branch from the new set Colorful Seasons and the grass and ornament from the stamp set, High Tide.  The good thing about photopolymer stamps is that you can bend them when you put them on the clear block.  That’s how I got the tree to curve under the weight of the ornament.  The sentiment is from the winter set called Flurry of Wishes.

I did have to do another card for my son.  Since I had bought the Coffee Cafe’ set, my son has seen a poop in the whipped cream.  He’s 5 and since we are not very mature around here, I thought I’d make a card for him using it.  The sentiment is not Stampin’ Up! but I’ve used it for years at my Christmas parties for favors and gifts.

Click Next to go on check out Lou Kitzelman’s Twist on the Holiday.  There’s a list of people below if you’ve missed any.  Thanks for hopping by!

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop 9

Welcome to another month of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop!  This blog hop is titled Sorry You’re Leaving.  We are picking our favorite items that are retiring from the last catalog to make room for brand new items in the new catalog coming out June 1st.  Thank you for joining us.  Make sure you hop around to all the blogs to see projects made with these “have to have” items before they sell out!

First on my list of favorite retiring items is Gorgeous Grunge.  I have used this stamp set in so many projects.  It is a great background stamp to break up white space.  It always adds just what I need to a project.  Here I have it paired with another of my favorite retiring items Petite Petals.  Petite Petals is one of my favorites because it has a punch!  It’s quick and easy and makes such a great addition to any card.  And the punch is on sale!

I used Gorgeous Grunge to make the strip of pattern paper on the card and the splash behind it.  I’ve also used the Crumb Cake Note Cards and Envelopes. They are a great neutral to pair up with almost any other color. I use them a lot to make card sets as gifts for teachers and gift card holders.  The crumb cake note cards are retiring but we will still be carrying White Note Cards and Vanilla Note Cards.

Next on my list is the Made with Love stamp set, Something for Baby stamp set and coordinating framelits.  I’ve used these on so many children’s cards, baby cards, baby shower cards, invitations and gifts.  This is definitely a keeper!

I made this cute card set with thank you cards because what new mother doesn’t need thank you cards?!

Did you notice that I also used Gorgeous Grunge on these cards.  I LOVE Gorgeous Grunge!  Anyway, the last project I made uses two retiring items.  The Decorative label punch and the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set.

The watercolor swish in the Perpetual Birthday Calendar set is a go-to for so many things!  I’ve used it here as the sky.  It’s subtle but  beautiful!  Can you see where I’ve used the Decorative Label Punch?  At the bottom to make the “legs” of my folding screen.  The trees are from the Sheltering Tree and it’s NOT retiring yet!

Thank you for hopping along with me today.  Thankfully I’m not crying too hard over here because I already own all of these favorites.  The retiring list is while supplies last so don’t miss out!  I am offering a free gift to anyone who orders using the hostess code: 4Z3AYGQ during the month of May.  Next up is Ilse from the Netherlands with her wonderful projects! I’m excited that it’s time once again for the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop!  It runs the first Friday of the month and the projects that you see are from Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all around the globe using a common theme.

This month our theme is: OUR FAVORITE BUNDLE!

I had such a hard time choosing this time around because I have a few favorites right now.  But the one that is most fun to use currently is the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle.  This dragonfly set makes the most beautiful cards and there are so many different ways you can stamp the dragonfly or cut the dies.  Here are a few examples of cards I’ve made using this set:

Tomorrow I am attending OnStage Local here in San Diego and demonstrators from all over are getting sneak peeks of the new Annual Catalog that comes out in June.  I’m so excited to see the new bundles that will be available.  They’ve already given us some peeks at new In-Colors 2017-2019.  Hint: They are in the OnStage letters! SShhhh…

So pretty!  And one suite called Eastern Palace.  Amazing things done with that bundle already!

Don’t forget to sign up for Paper Pumpkin before April 10th to receive the FREE gift Sara has included in this anniversary box!  Sara designed it herself and you won’t want to miss out on all the goodness. Click on the photo below to sign up!  “Bold, vibrant, and artistic—with a little bit of sass,” is how Stampin’ Up! CEO Sara Douglass described the kit she designed for the April Paper Pumpkin.

I hope you get some inspiration from these dragonflies.  Up next is the amazing Marieke Bart with her favorite bundle.  If you need to go back, click previous to see Angélique Stempelkeuken.  Thanks for hopping with us!

Global Blog Hop #7: Sketch Challenge!

Posted on

Welcome to another month of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop!  This month we’ve got a sketch challenge!  Here’s the sketch:

Here’s what I made:

It’s my dad’s birthday today, so I had made this card for him using the sketch.  I really like the stamp set, Guy Greetings because it sums up my dad perfectly.  He was always working on a car or fixing things around the house.  Yes, he really did teach me, righty-tighty, lefty-loosey!  And I’ve since taught my kids!   The argyle print in the Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack is the perfect addition to a masculine card, in my opinion.  Love you DAD!

What can you create using this sketch? Leave a comment, along with a link to your blog and I’ll come check it out!

Tomorrow is my monthly Stamp Camp.  RSVP on the Event page over on the BFF Stampers facebook page if you’d like to join us.  This is the last month to enter to win the April Stamp Camp for FREE!  Just bring a new friend and you and your friend will get an entry into the raffle!

Shop my Stampin’ Up! store HERE and don’t forget to use Hostess Code: 3AGXYPCB and you will receive a surprise in the mail from me!

Don’t forget!  SALE-A-BRATION is still in full swing!  Check out the brochure of all the FREE exclusive items you can only get with a $50 purchase!  They’ve even added some new stuff!

Sale-A-Bration ends March 31, 2017!  You don’t want to miss out!

Hope to see you soon!!

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop 6-Color Challenge!

Posted on

logo for gsf

Hi and Welcome to the BFF Stampers blog. I’m so excited to be participating in our 6th Blog Hop.  All of these crafters are so talented and I’m blessed to be united with them.

Today on our blog hop we have a color challenge!  I hope you are inspired by the three colors we have chosen.  The colors are So Saffron, Rose Red and Wild Wasabi.  These colors are really beautiful together.

color swatches

When I do a color challenge, I like to get out all the cardstock and ink of the colors that I have.  I play around and stamp different images but the thing that is in right now is watercoloring!  I have to admit, I am absolutely no good at watercoloring.  I’ve tried all the different techniques and I just can’t get it right.  So for this card, I pulled out my trustworthy Watercolor Wash background stamp.  You can’t go wrong with a built in water color look.

Watercolor dragonflies

Doesn’t that black really make the colors pop?  I used my Aqua Painter and dampened the whole stamp first, then I squeezed a little ink onto the lid of the stamp pad and used my aqua painter to paint the layers onto the stamp.  Then stamped it onto watercolor paper.  And it’s watercolored.  And I liked it!  And yes, I’m pleasantly surprised!

I think these dragonflies might be my favorite set from the new catalog.  The background paper I used in the photo is called Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper.  It is a Sale-A-Bration product that you can get for FREE with a $50 purchase.  It’s 12 sheets of black and white scrapbook paper, perfect for coloring!  What is your favorite product from the new catalogs?

Stamp Camp feb 4

This Saturday, Feb. 4th I’m having the Occasions Kick Off Stamp Camp.  We will be making these cards plus a surprise Valentine Card and demoing some fun product.  We might even get to color some of that paper from above with the new Watercolor Pencils!  It starts at 6 p.m. at Sew Easy Studio here in Ramona.  Check out the Facebook Page at BFF Stampers and click on Events.  Don’t forget your adhesive and paper snips.

Thank you for joining me on the hop!  Next you will enjoy the creativity of Kimberley Anne Morris.

Happy Stamping,

Jenn

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop/Occasions Catalog & Sale-A-Bration

Posted on

Hi BFF’s!!! I’m so happy to get back into a schedule after all the hustle and bustle of Christmas and New Year’s. I pray that all of you and your families had a safe and happy New Year and that you all got the love you wanted for Christmas 🙂

So Phew! We’re back and do we have some exciting news for you! Stampin’ Up! 2017 Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration is available to look at and buy from! Squeal! And we hope you will love it as much as we do.  There’s beautiful Valentine’s Day stuff and surly Manly stuff.  Dragonflies, Hot Air Balloons and Succulents!  Ice cream, Circus and Heros! Such a variety! The blog hop today is showcasing some of the items from the new catalog, so here goes!

My absolute favorite is the balloon pop up dies. I just used them to make invitations for a birthday party!  They were so fun and and easy way to add something spectacular.

Here is the video straight from Stampin’ Up! showing you exactly how to use the dies.

There are so many fabulous stamps, designer series paper and adorable little embellishments, that you will not have a problem finding $50 worth of stuff to buy.  And for every $50 you spend in product, you receive something free from the Sale-A-Bration brochure!  You can not buy the product from the SAB, you’ve got to earn it!  So come check out the catalog and let me know what’s on your wish list!  If you do not have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, then I’d love to send you a catalog.  Just contact me and let me know!

Here’s a few more cards using new items.

This baby card is made with a sentiment from the Stamp Set, All Things Thanks.

And this card is made from a stamp set called Window Shopping, but the stamp set is not the best part!  The best part is the Window Box Thinlet Die that you can buy to go with it!  I’ll add the video below.

We went to a meeting with our team and got some adorable cards using their pre-orders also.

How to earn free stamps:

  1. Shop!!!  Buy online or buy in person:  For every $50 you spend on product out of ANY catalog or online in the clearance, you will receive a FREE Sale-A-Bration item of your choice from the brochure.
  2. Join Stampin’ Up!! : Become a Happy Shopper!  It’s the best time of year to join Stampin’ Up! During Sale-A-Bration, you can become a demonstrator for just $99 USD and choose TWO additional stamp sets for your Starter Kit—any stamp set, any price! (Excludes Sale-A-Bration sets and bundles.) Global Stamping Friends – Blog Hop #3 – Festive Projects

Posted on

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop!  Our theme for this Hop is Festive Projects!

I absolutely love the cherry cobbler and garden green mix in the This Christmas Specialty designer series paper from the annual catalog.  There’s something about the vanilla that just gives the Christmas feel a little charm and a more rustic look. And the best part about it, is that it has 24 sheets instead of the regular 12 so that you can make twice as many cards!  It’s perfect for all those Christmas cards for your friends and family.  Here’s one that we did at a recent Stamp Camp. I think it looks so vintage.

image

For our festive theme for this month’s blog hop, I decided to make a box of tags using that same dsp (designer series paper). I found the adorable box idea on Kathleen’s blog at My Happy Stamping Place. She has a YouTube video and all the measurements are on her blog. Her explanation is so easy to follow.

img_1514

I used the stamp set Tin of Tags throughout the whole project.  I love this stamp set.  I did buy the Tin of Tags kit, but this Tin of Tags stamp set is definitely one I would have bought on its own.  It is perfect for all the tiny Christmas wishes that need to be said. I love the way the box opens up!

img_1513

I made 12 tags, 4 each of 3 colors that fit perfectly inside.  The measurements for the cards are 2 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ and then fold in half at 2 3/4″.  The dsp is 2 5/8″ x 2 5/8″.  The circles I used were a 1 3/4″ and the circle mat is 2″.

img_1517

Here’s a closer picture of the tags.  I love them!

img_1516

The box is big enough inside to put a gift card and some candy too!  I think it would be a perfect gift box to dress up an otherwise simple gift.

img_1518

I have two of these boxes made and we will be giving one away as our door prize this Saturday night, November 5th, at our stamp camp!  Go to our BFF Stampers facebook event page and come join us on Saturday.  RSVP so I know to bring you a kit.  The cost is $20 to make these cards:

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop #2

Posted on

Well now that World Card Making Day is over, BFF Stampers is joining the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop!  Today’s Hop is a Color Challenge featuring 5 beautiful Stampin’ Up! colors.

Color Challenge Colors

Color Challenge Colors

Aren’t these a wonderful mix of colors?  We could also use Very Vanilla, Whisper White and Basic Black as our neutrals.

A color challenge is great for Lisa because she has a difficult time mixing colors.  She chose to create a traditional scrapbook page layout for today’s Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  Using all of the colors, except Cajun Craze, she created a beautiful “Love” page.  She utilized the Stampin’ Up! card stock to show case the colors Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Real Red and Early Espresso.  By adding a little splash of ink in the background with the  Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, it added just a bit of texture.

Lisa's Love Page

Lisa’s Love Page

At least 3 of these colors reminded me of fall so I went ahead and made up some Thanksgiving themed items for our dinner table.  The first item was made using the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes.  They are so tiny and so cute!  I thought they would make a great place card/favor box for a Thanksgiving dinner.  I put trail mix in it but you could put candy corn or reese’s pieces or anything really.  The band just slides off the box so you can get into your goodies and then close it back up again.

I decorated it using the Vintage Leaves Stamp Set and Leaflets Framelits Dies.  I left the Delightful Dijon leaf without a stamped image so I could write my name for the place card.  The tiny open leaf is from the Flourishing Thinlits.

img_1057img_1058

img_1059

I love the little copper pinecone.  Just a great addition to the leaves.

Then I made a utensil holder using the Mini Treat Bag thinlit die.  I wrapped it with a piece of embossed Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I embossed it with the Woodland embossing folder and then sponged it with Early Espresso to really pop out those tree trunks.  The greeting is from a stamp set for the Holiday Catalog called Paisleys & Posies.

img_1053

I did not have a punch or die that fit my greeting and fit nicely onto my utensil holder so I used a trick I learned to use your labels and get them to fit.  If you trim your paper to fit into the die exactly, you can put one side under and cut only that one side.  Then take out the paper and do the opposite side.  It’s a little confusing but hopefully the pictures will help.  I love this technique and use it often now.

img_1055img_1056

I looped some copper wire behind the sentiment.  Here’s a picture of how we do it.  I’m glad I learned it this way because before, it was just a tangled mess and I didn’t like the look.

img_1054

I hope you enjoyed this project and can get some use out of it.  Those clear tiny treat boxes really are uber adorable!  They are in the annual catalog.  What a nice matching set for the dinner table.  We always eat at my sister in law’s house so maybe I’ll surprise her this year 🙂

Happy Stamping,
