Global Stamping Friends Bloghop – Color Challenge

Posted on

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends September Blog Hop where demonstrators from all over the world are making cards to inspire you.  I’m Jenn and I’m so glad you are here to join us for the color challenge AND today is a great day because the 2017 Holiday Catalog is now LIVE!

This month we are doing a color challenge and these colors just scream WINTER!  So I chose to play with a new set from the new catalog called Snowflake Sentiments on page 35.  And of course, they have a coordinating set of thinlits called Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits dies that you have got to have to go with this set.

I absolutely love the font in this set.  I also love these intricate snowflakes.  Aren’t they pretty?  And I had to cut them from the white glimmer paper because snowflakes have to shimmer in my opinion!

I hope you have enjoyed the hop so far.  Click on the NEXT arrow to see what Courtenay Heuston is going to wow us with.  Her projects are always so inspirational.  There is also a list below of everyone in the hop.  Happy Hopping!

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop 6-Color Challenge!

Hi and Welcome to the BFF Stampers blog. I’m so excited to be participating in our 6th Blog Hop.  All of these crafters are so talented and I’m blessed to be united with them.

Today on our blog hop we have a color challenge!  I hope you are inspired by the three colors we have chosen.  The colors are So Saffron, Rose Red and Wild Wasabi.  These colors are really beautiful together.

When I do a color challenge, I like to get out all the cardstock and ink of the colors that I have.  I play around and stamp different images but the thing that is in right now is watercoloring!  I have to admit, I am absolutely no good at watercoloring.  I’ve tried all the different techniques and I just can’t get it right.  So for this card, I pulled out my trustworthy Watercolor Wash background stamp.  You can’t go wrong with a built in water color look.

Watercolor dragonflies

Doesn’t that black really make the colors pop?  I used my Aqua Painter and dampened the whole stamp first, then I squeezed a little ink onto the lid of the stamp pad and used my aqua painter to paint the layers onto the stamp.  Then stamped it onto watercolor paper.  And it’s watercolored.  And I liked it!  And yes, I’m pleasantly surprised!

I think these dragonflies might be my favorite set from the new catalog.  The background paper I used in the photo is called Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper.  It is a Sale-A-Bration product that you can get for FREE with a $50 purchase.  It’s 12 sheets of black and white scrapbook paper, perfect for coloring!  What is your favorite product from the new catalogs?

Stamp Camp feb 4

This Saturday, Feb. 4th I’m having the Occasions Kick Off Stamp Camp.  We will be making these cards plus a surprise Valentine Card and demoing some fun product.  We might even get to color some of that paper from above with the new Watercolor Pencils!  It starts at 6 p.m. at Sew Easy Studio here in Ramona.  Check out the Facebook Page at BFF Stampers and click on Events.  Don’t forget your adhesive and paper snips.

Thank you for joining me on the hop!  Next you will enjoy the creativity of Kimberley Anne Morris.

Happy Stamping,

Jenn

First Color Throwdown and a Baby Shower gift inspired by the Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

Posted on

I’ve been searching the internet for all kinds of card/project making challenges this week.  I used to love me some scrapbook challenges on Scrapbook.com.  Years ago I was a regular on that website!  I’ve made friends that I still talk to and have never met!  That is the reason Lisa and I decided to start working with Stampin’ Up.  To bring our friends together and have fun doing what we love doing!  That brings me back to today, scouring the website for challenges and today I came across this Color Throwdown.  I perused their blog and they have so much fun!  And it wouldn’t hurt to maybe win a chance to become a guest star stamper. 😉  That would be awesome and such a compliment.  Go on over to their blog by clicking the image and play along.

Here’s my take on the color challenge.  I’m a block color challenge person.  I just love the bright colors together.  I heat embossed the greeting in black just so it would stick out more.

Yesterday I was blog hopping (one of my fave things to do, besides eating!) and I came across the most adorable idea ever for some food tags?  I have no idea what they are called but they are the tags that tell you what’s in the bowl at a self-serve party. Anyway, Allison Okamitsu from Nice People Stamp made the most wonderful decorations for a bridal shower and I just had to case the idea for the little food tags that I was asked to make for a baby shower tomorrow. That Artisan Design Team is so awesome! I inspire to one day have all those great ideas and create for Stampin’ Up! In the meantime, I’m case-ing their wonderful creations.

And here’s the gift for my friend.  I got the baby a tiny little adorable outfit because I can never resist those tiny little outfits.  I made her a gift bag with a some-what matching card.

I also have a little girl’s 3rd birthday party on Sunday and they call her bug and she’s stinkin’ cute.  I made a card using the waterfall technique and love it.  It’s so fun.  I know she’ll love it too.  I got the tutorial from Dawn Griffith.  I love her tutorials.  She makes everything seem so easy 🙂
